2018 Popcorn Program
Face it parents: we grew up in a different time. As kids, nothing was handed to us. We either worked or helped to earn our rewards: money, an activity with friends, or something we wanted. Scouting still believes in and stands for the core value of earning!

Benefits to the Pack:

The popcorn sale is Pack 29's sole fundraising for the year.  All of the operations for the pack for an entire year are covered including:
  • Annual Scout Registration Fee
  • Annual Leader Registration Fee
  • Leader Training and Materials
  • Pack Meeting Meals
  • Awards
  • Pinewood Derby Kits
  • Pack Meeting Activities
  • Den Expenses
  • Arrow of Light Ceremony
  • Blue & Gold Banquet
  • Food & Supplies for Campouts
  • Operational Supplies & Equipment (including this website)
  • Popcorn Pie Thowing Event

Sales Minimum:

Each scout is asked to sell $350 worth of popcorn - and they won't have to pay the Pack for anything else for the entire year!  This eliminates "nickel and diming" fees throughout the year.  Concerned about selling this much popcorn?  It's really not too difficult, but if feel free to contact Matt Podemski (cubmaster@pack29auburn.com) for more details.  You can always opt-out of popcorn by writing a check to the Pack for $175.

Ways to Sell:

Take Orders
  • The Scout with his Akela goes door to door with a Take Order Form.  Take Order Forms will provided during the Popcorn Kickoff 
  • The customer writes his/her order on the Take Order Form and the Scout collects the money.
  • The Scout processes the order and delivers the Popcorn to the Customer when the popcorn arrives.
  • All orders must be entered on the Trails End App by the deadline.
Selling at Work
  • Mom and/or Dad take an order form to their work.
  • Fellow co-workers write their order on the order form.
  • Mom and/or Dad deliver product and collect the money when the popcorn arrives.
  • (It is best to collect the money upfront when possible)
  • All orders must be entered on the Trails End App by the deadline.
Selling Online
  • The Product is shipped directly from Trail’s End to the customer and the Scout and Unit receive credit for the Sale.
  • First, you must create an online account for yourself.  Click here and click register in the upper right hand corner to create an online account.
  • From the online account, you can generate e-mails for your friends and family.
Selling at Retail Stores
  • The Pack will be arranging to sell popcorn on 4 different dates at 4 different locations in Auburn/Opelika.  More information on this to follow.
  • Parents are asked to help out at the sale for at least one hour when their scout is present.
  • The proceeds of the sale will benefit all participating scouts equally.

Prizes and Rewards:
  • Pie(s) to throw at a parent or leader (the more you sell, the more you throw)
  • Trails-End Provides Prizes (see order forms)
  • Pack Provides Gift Cards for all sales $500 or more
  • Top Individual Sellers Reward (valued at $50) 
  • Council offers drawings for other prizes
