Scout Sunday at AUMC

All scouts are invited to participate in the church’s annual Scout Sunday recognition services on Sunday, Feb. 9. These opportunities are available during its Sanctuary services at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., Chapel service at 9:30 a.m., and Resonate service at 11 a.m.

Sign Up for Scout Sunday
You can sign up via Volunteer Spot by clicking on the link to the right.  This outlines the needs during each service for a Scout to offer the opening prayer, as well as for many Scouts to greet and pass out bulletins prior to the service, and to collect the offering during the service. You can also help us fill in where we lack sign-ups by seeing how many have signed up for each opportunity. You will note where you can volunteer for a specific service, and a particular volunteer role at that service. Those who have volunteered in the past will notice the absence of a Scripture reading slot, which is due to Scout Sunday coinciding with Community Sunday.
When using the link to sign up, log in with an email address we can use to follow up with you, select the service and volunteer role your Scout (and you, if you’re a leader), and put the name of the volunteer and the unit number in the “Name” field [for example, Johnny Scout (Pack 29)]. Finalize your commitment by clicking the “Save” button at the bottom of the page, then the “Continue” button on the next page.
No matter the assignment, we ask all Scouts to be present at least 20 minutes prior the start of the service. All Scouts should complete their assignment 30 minutes into the service. Scouts should also arrive in complete uniform (as defined by their unit). This is an excellent opportunity for a Scout to wear any religious emblem medals, a merit badge sash or other formal awards.
Please sign up by Tuesday, Feb. 4 so we have time to confirm assignments and assist Scouts who will be preparing prayers for the service. If you have any questions or problems signing up, contact Michael Tullier at
