Nominations Open for Jimmy Stewart Award

Nominations are now open for the 4th annual Jimmy Stewart Award for Scout Spirit.  Scout Spirit is defined as adherence to the Cub Scout Promise, Law of the Pack, and Cub Scout Motto:

 Cub Scout Promise

On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country

and to obey the ScoutLaw;

To help other people at all times;

To keep myself physically strong,

mentally awake and morally straight.

The Scout Law

A Scout is:
Trustworthy,
Loyal,
Helpful,
Friendly,
Courteous,
Kind,
Obedient,
Cheerful,
Thrifty,
Brave,
Clean,
and Reverent..

Nominations are accepted through February 28th.  Anyone can nominate a scout for the award.  All material for each nomination should be submitted in one e-mail to cubmaster@pack29auburn.com.  All forms are available below.  The following material is required for nominating a scout:

  • Jimmy Stewart Award Nomination Form
  • Written letter from the nominating individual stating why the scout is worthy of the award
      Plus one of the following
  • Recommendation Form (or letter) from someone at the Scout’s school
  • Recommendation Form (or letter) from someone in the Scout’s religious community
  • Recommendation Form (or letter) from den leader

One Pack 29 scout each year will receive the award, and a small committee of senior leaders will determine the winner based on nominations submitted.  The award will be presented at the Blue & Gold Banquet in March.
